Our gear evolves as we learn how to actually use cameras and audio equipment to produce quality content. But we do have a baseline we’re pretty happy with so if you’re looking for a brief ‘intro’ to world traveling and content creation we think that the gear below might be just what you need to get going.

Our Cameras

The DJI Action 5 Pro camera is our go-to filming equipment. It’s robust, outputs very high quality images and there are thousands of accessories you can connect to it to extend its capabilities.
The DJI Pocket 3 is our latest addition to our vlogging gear. It’s compact, it has an amazing gyro we’re still figuring out and it supports the same, seamless connectivity to DJI’s audio gear as the Action 5 Pro does.

iPhone 16 Pro Max – Daily driver for filming vertical footage, and extremely low-light settings. Not much to say about this one as it is an iPhone. You’re all familiar with it.
Our Microphones and Audio Gear
The DJI Mic Minis are amazing! They weight basically nothing and they do a great job at capturing low-noise, high-detail voice. We mostly use it for indoor settings with a low noise floor but they’re versatile and they’ll do a great job in most environments.

The DJI Mic 2 -This is the golden standard of on-the-go lavaliere mics, used by vloggers everywhere. The audio quality is unmatched and the processing is so advanced that the noise reduction actually works! We got our first one in the Pocket 3 Creator Bundle and we immediately bought a second one! They connect seamlessly to either DJI Cameras without the need for a receiver.
The “good enough” BOYA Lavaliere Mic Kit with receiver. These are cheap but they do a good job in low-noise settings. We used it connected to our phones, when filming shorts. The receiver connects via a USB-C plug but Amazon has this kit available with a Lighting connector as well.

The TRUST GX-Series of Podcast Mics are cheap, easy to use and do a great job at capturing detail in the voice that a lavaliere mic would struggle with. We use it for voice overs, mostly. The stand and filter are included in the box!
Our Accessories

Ioan’s favorite thing. This handle doubles as a charging battery for our DJI Action 5 Pro Camera and it has action buttons right there on the grip! It’s surprisingly lightweight and built like a tank! You can very easily adapt it to work with GoPros or any other action Cam with a USB-C charging port. BONUS: it has an Audio Input jack to connect external, wired mics!
ULANZI – they sell high quality accessories for Action Cams. We have several stands and telescopic handles we use with our cameras but this one stands out as it can expand to more than 1 meter and doubles as a tripod! And it’s cheap!

Things we pack our stuff in

The Level8 20″ Aluminum Carry On Roll-ons – the best trolley we’ve ever owned. We bought 2 – one in Silver and on in Dark Grey – during Amazon’s Black Friday discounts and we’ve since travelled the world with only these as carry ons! They’re sturdy, incredibly well build and will breeze through anything airport ground crew throws at it!
And did we mention is CARRY ON size? Our last 1-month round the world trip? We’ve packed everything in it!
Alexandra’s favorite backpack – The Cabaia Adventurer in purple True & tested to pack everything she needed for our 5-days trip to Italy! And it’s well below carry-on size restrictions for every low cost carrier out there! You can easily place it under the seat in front of you

The Samsonite Securipack – We have two, actually – one in a very nice bright-orange color and a second in dark grey. It’s a laptop backpack but Ioan usually packs all our filming gear and a Macbook Pro with some room to spare for essentials.
Computer-y Stuff
What’s there to say? Macbooks have been our daily driver computers for the past 15 years. We’re using a Macbook Pro 14 with a M4 Max CPU for our video and audio editing, and an iPad Pro 13 for everything else. As we’re gearing for something…big next year, we’ll probably update our computers with an additional Macbook Air for light video editing stuff.
